Going out to a restaurant rather than slaving over your own stove is one of life’s true pleasures.

Amazingly, in the UK, 32.8 million meals are enjoyed away from home every week, but what do Brits really think about the dining out experience?

A consumer study carried out by London shopping centre, Westfield interviewed 2,000 UK foodies to investigate five key areas – eating out, eating in, technology, attitudes and food shopping – that shape the dinner table of today and tomorrow.

For instance, did you know that insects are a new high protein food trend and that one in five people like to gobble them up? Or that a whopping six million Brits have dropped their phones in food or drink in the effort to get the perfect social post?

MACROS have created an infographic using the study’s results to reveal the fascinating facts and figures behind the country’s love of food.
