When the urge to snack hits, it can be super hard to fight back. However, giving in doesn’t mean giving up on healthy eating.

There are so many good-for-you snacks on the market right now that will leave you satiated without sacrificing calories.

MACROS has rounded up six you should get your paws on this summer – from sour cherries to chickpea puffs.

 

1. Doisy & Dam Chocolate Bars

In a bid to make chocolate healthy yet tasty, Doisy & Dam have partnered superfoods such as baobab, lucuma and goji berries with high quality organic chocolate.

2. Nairn’s Mini Cheese Oatcakes

Packed with wholesome, wholegrain oats for slow release energy and made with real cheese, Nairn’s fiber-packed On The Go Mini Cheese Oatcakes are made from simple, natural ingredients with no hidden sugars, artificial colors, flavors or preservatives.

3. Heart of Nature’s Loaf

This vegan, veggie loaf is claiming to be one of “the healthiest breads in the world”. It is packed with health-boosting whole grains, super seeds and fruits including chia, pumpkin, rye goji berry and plum. It is then baked without wheat, yeast nor dairy.

There are plenty of vitamins inside too, including C, E, B6, A and F, plus brain and skin enhancing Omega-3 oils. It comes in seven different varieties, including cranberry and chia, and is baked with zero added sugar, additives, or GMO.

Heart of Nature recommend topping a slice with avocado smash and a squeeze of lemon or serving with hummus.

4. The Coconut Collaborative’s Little Lemon Temptations

These healthy dessert pots are made with coconut cream and real lemon juice for that extra zing. As well as being free-from dairy, soya and gluten, they are packed with the goodness of coconuts and contain just 125 calories per 45g serving size.

Co-Founder, James Averdieck, who launched Gü in 2003, says: “There’s a real gap in the market for great tasting, free-from desserts which feel indulgent but which aren’t packed full of sugar. 5. Calsway’s Fragile Sour Cherries

Health brand Calsway has recently released an Eat Right range: calorie counted snacks with a mix of healthy options. These include dried fruits, nuts and berries, fruit strips and fruit crisps, as well as high-quality meat and fish jerky. Ideal for those counting the calories, the snacks are packed according to calories as opposed to weight to help consumers easily make healthier choices.

One example are Fragile Sour Cherries, which handily count as one of your five a day and are suitable for gluten free and vegan diets. They undergo a unique freeze-drying process where the fresh cherries are frozen and then warmed in a vacuum extracting all moisture; this preserves the vitamins, fiber, and other important nutrients.

 

6. Hippeas

It turns out chickpeas aren’t just great for hummus as proved by these organic chickpea puffs. A lighter choice, Hippeas are crunchy and airy, have 91 or less calories a bag and are packed full of protein and fiber. They are gluten-free, low in fat, vegan-friendly and contain absolutely no additives or preservatives.
